Architect-designed pavilion in the heart of Cologny

Le Pavillon, Cologny

Description

In the highly sought-after commune of Cologny, famous Swiss architect François Maurice decided in the 1960s to build this sublime pavilion as a second home.
Implanted on a flat plot of 1550 m2, this beautiful plot actually consists of a pavilion, a workshop, a pond and a garage that can accommodate 2 cars.

The single-storey building, which underwent its latest renovations in 2014, comprises 3 rooms (a bedroom, a bathroom, a living and dining room, a kitchen and a workshop with shower room) totalling just under 130 m2 of living space.

We present here a unique architectural object with character and atypical features just a few steps from Cologny village center.

Municipality

Cologny is a commune neighboring Geneva, with a population of almost 6,000 known as the Colognotes. Elegant, but popular nonetheless. There's a theater, a few signs and a wonderful view of the jet d'eau

Remarks

François Maurice is a Swiss architect, born in Geneva (1925-2019).
The richness and high quality of his work have earned him a place among the most important representatives of Geneva architecture in the second half of the xxe century.
Influenced by the study of great masters such as Mies van der Rohe, Maurice took an interest in the international architectural scene and practiced rationality of plan as well as constructive rigor and clarity of composition, based on a modular grid2.
